What happened to Chrissy?

Hi,
I went on a 2 month holiday over in Europe, and noticed that when I got back, the station has changed the name of the "show", and she's no longer there... Just curious as to why?

Vega has been struggling financially so they made Chrissie redundant and left Dicko and Dave as co-hosts, you may have noticed that there is hardly any announcers on the station now as the also made Mike Perso and Claire Marshall redundant.

XS & Matt, Thanks for the posts - to be honest, of course we want the station to be financially in great shape, and that will come. However that wasn't the reason for the change. The rationale for the change with announcers was because we feel (and listener input showed) that there is an over-abundance of talking on Melbourne radio stations, and there was an opportunity to talk less and play more music. That's what we've done. We recognise that not everyone will agree with the approach, and that's okay, but I wanted to clarify why it was done. Dan Bradley dmg / Vega

letting chrissy go has taken the heart out of the show she shines and I wish her the very best in anything she does.....go chrissy!!!

The show is not the same without chrissy. Its really missing her wittiness.
Sorry to say I am not enjoying the show as much now. And haven't gone out of my way to listen to it.

Dave brought back the Barney Banana, Maybe we can bring back Chrissy .. LOL

Dave update: He is at home now but not very mobile. Still on some serious pain killers so will probably be a couple of weeks away. He still phones the show most mornings so listen out for him!

Dan, Thanks for clarifying however I fall into the "not everyone will agree with the approach" group. I felt that Chrissy added significantly to the show in quality, maybe not in quantity. I still enjoy Dave and Dicko but I am no longer an everyday listener now sharing Vega with Hughesy and Kate on Nova. Just some feedback, Cheers.

hrissy, she was the best part of the show, now instead of listening to vega between 10 & 12 I watch chrissy on the circle. Bring back Chrissy , please please please.

We are loving Chrissie on the circle as well.

Also Dave update: If you were listening this morning you would of heard we have mic'd him up at home. Much more Dave on the way.

Yeah Chrissie was great value, but lets face it, she has other family priorities in her life now, and three presenters is overkill. Just look at Red Simons - does the whole show on his own. Didn't even notice Mike Perso had gone! However I used to think he was the real star of the show, doing heaps more hours than the celebs, and a great voice too. For the record I'm driven to smash the radio if anyone puts Nova on. What a load of annoying rubbish.

I don't listen anymore. It's not the same without Chrissy. I used to love the show, but it's lost it now.

There's still too much talk on breakfast show. We don't want to hear about the personal lives and family of the announcers. We turn on the radio to listen to music to get our day going. When too much talk, I switch to my iPod.
